As part of casting this spell you fire a single arrow into the air.  The spell does not take effect until 1 or more rounds pass, delayed up to 3 rounds at your choice.  The targeted area is struck with a copy of your launched arrow duplicated thousands of times.  At the start of your turn any opponents in the area are subject to an attack roll from your arrow at your highest attack bonus.  They are also struck if they perform any provoking actions in the area.  For this purpose you have unlimited attacks of opportunity in this threatened area, but you do not count as threatening for the purpose of flanking.

The rain of arrows lasts for as many rounds as it was delayed, so it persists for up to 3 rounds after a full delay.  

''Material Component:''  An arrow, which is fired.  If the component was a magic or otherwise enhanced arrow, the arrows from this spell take on its properties.
