When you use this blast shape you form glowing energy spikes over your body.  At the beginning of your turn, any adjacent creatures take your eldritch blast damage.  Creatures also take your eldritch blast damage when grappling, or if attacking you with natural weapons and unarmed strikes.  Eldritch essences cannot be applied to eldritch spikes.

As a standard action you can cause the spikes to explode, dealing your eldritch blast damage in a 20 ft radius burst around you with a [[Reflex]] save for half.  You can choose to apply an eldritch essence at this time if you wish.

Eldritch spikes last for 24 hours or until expended.
