[[Summary::You bind a demon, devil, or fey to your body which grants you fantastic power and protects you from death... for a while.]]  Choose an evil outsider or fey whose CR is equal to your HD or less.  This spirit is bound to you, and as a result you may count yourself as the type and subtype particular demon, devil, or fey when beneficial.  You gain Darkvision 60 ft and may choose one extraordinary or supernatural (but not spell-like) abilities from the chosen creature which you may emulate.  Some abilities may require a physical form you lack to perform, such as a poison for a tail attack you lack.  While you are bound you radiate an aura of chaos (for fey and demons), evil (for demons and devils), and law (for devils) as if you were an evil outsider.

If you would perish from an attack or fall unconscious, you may delay your death as a non-action as your bound spirit keeps you alive.  However at the start of every round you take 1d6 points of "corruption" as your body begins to visibly express the creature bound within you.  When corruption points equal or exceed your HD, your body explodes and the bound creature remains in your place to act as it chooses.  You yourself are dead, and your body reduced to paste.

Corruption points are hard to remove.  Every time you rest 8 hours or more in a ''[[SRD:Consecrate|consecrated]]'' or otherwise blessed place, you recover a single corruption point.  Until it is all clear, your monstrous nature is apparent to all.  You also count as the bound creature when it is your disadvantage, such as being subject to a [[SRD:Bane|bane]] weapon.  Nothing short of ''[[SRD:Miracle|miracle]]'' or ''[[SRD:Wish|wish]]'' can remove corruption faster.  Corruption persists even after your invocation has ended.

When you gain Dark Invocations you can eject the bound spirit pre-maturely as a 1 round action, effectively summoning it anywhere within 60 ft.  It lasts for 1 hour, but is not under your direct control.  If you do this, you cannot invoke this invocation again until the previous bound spirit departs or is killed.
