This spell causes whatever the caster touches to wither and die. A living creature struck by this spell must succeed on a [[SRD:Saving Throw#Fortitude|Fortitude]] save or be magically aged up to one [[SRD:Race Descriptions#Vital Statistics#Aging Effects|age category]] for every five [[SRD:Caster_Level|caster levels]]. If the aging takes the target past the venerable age, they must make another Fortitude save (using their adjusted [[SRD:Constitution|Constitution]] score) or die. 

This spell is not a [[SRD:Death Effect|death effect]]. If used on a [[SRD:Construct Type|construct]], [[SRD:Dragon Type|dragon]], or [[SRD:Undead Type|undead]], the target must make a fortitude save or instantly rot, taking a penalty to all applicable physical ability scores as if they had aged the maximum number of age categories (use the undead's age before animation or start in adulthood, and assume the same for all constructs and dragons even though they do not age in the same fashion, if at all).  If the target fails its save, the target must make another saving throw the next round or completely decay and be destroyed. Non-magical objects and items get no save to resist destruction, but magical items do. 

This spell’s effects are permanent unless broken by ''[[SRD:Break Enchantment|break enchantment]]'' or ''[[SRD:Remove Curse|remove curse]]'' (but only if the [[SRD:Caster Level|caster level]] exceeds that of this spell‘s caster), ''[[SRD:Greater Restoration|greater restoration]]'', ''[[SRD:Wish|wish]]'', or ''[[SRD:Miracle|miracle]]''. Any creature that is immune to magical aging cannot be affected by this spell, but a creature that is simply immortal is still vulnerable. As with undead and constructs, ageless creatures (such as [[SRD:Outsider Type|outsiders]]) still suffer penalties to physical ability scores.
