''This necklace consists of a pendant carved from the scale of a white dragon, with a faceted sapphire set in it, hung from a thick silver chain. Thin wisps of vapor float from it every now and again, and it's always cold to the touch.''

When worn, the necklace melds with the wearer's skin, transforming into a tattoo resembling the necklace, white with blue where the sapphire was; This tattoo is frigid to the touch but causes the bearer no discomfort. The necklace can only be removed by a Remove Curse, followed by a caster level check versus CL 15 if the caster of the Remove Curse isn't at least 15th level. While worn, the necklace causes the wearer to be vulnerable to fire, taking an additional 50% fire damage from all sources. 

However, a wearer that knows the command phrase ("As The Frost!" in Draconic, Spellcraft or Knowledge (Arcana) DC 18 to learn) can speak it as a standard action, transforming into a white half-dragon. While transformed, the wearer gains the following bonuses:

*Type changes to Dragon, gains the Cold subtype (Vulnerability to fire doesn't stack with that normally caused by the necklace)
*+8 Str, +2 Con, +2 Int, +2 Cha
*+4 Natural Armor
*Immunity to Sleep, Paralysis and Cold (Effective [Cold] subtype)
*2 Primary claw attacks that deal 1d4 damage for Medium, 1d3 for Small, and a Secondary bite attack that deals 1d6 for medium creatures, 1d4 for small.
*A pair of leathery wings that grant them a fly speed equal to twice their land speed (Max 120) with Average maneuverability
*Darkvision out to 60 feet and Low-Light Vision.

The wearer can transform in this manner for a number of rounds each day equal to 5 + 1/2 their total HD + their Con modifier; They may divide this duration as they please. However, upon ending the transformation for any reason, the wearer is Dazed for 1d6 rounds, bypassing all immunity to Daze and not allowing a saving throw to avoid the effect; Not even Spell Resistance applies.
The wearer can, once per day, breathe a 30-foot cone of frost, dealing 6d8 damage to those within the area. A successful Reflex saving throw (DC 10 + 1/2 wearer's HD + wearer’s Con modifier) halves the damage.

After the wearer has been wearing the necklace for three consecutive months or level-ups, and they are character level 5 or higher, they begin to show signs of the necklace's influence - Their hair fades to white; Their eyes turn the blue of a glacier; Their skin becomes cold to the touch and clammy, growing paler and showing the faint outline of scales; Their canine teeth grow pointed and longer; Their nails grow longer and harder; And their breath fogs regardless of temperature; and each week, they must make a DC 20 Will saving throw. If they fail, they are entitled to another saving throw one week after each failed save until they succeed. Each week, the save DC drops by two, to a minimum of 10. 
If the wearer succeeds, the necklace imparts unto them knowledge of a way to make the transformation permanent. Effectively, this grants them the abilities to take levels in the [[SRD:Dragon Disciple|Dragon Disciple]] prestige class as if they met the prerequisites, with the following changes:
*They can only choose [[SRD:White Dragon|White Dragon]] as their dragon half.
*Bonuses gained from the class overlap with those gained from the necklace; Breath weapon can still only be used once per day, etc.
*At the levels the Dragon Disciple would normally learn a new spell, the wearer of As The Frost can instead elect to gain abilities - Spells, soulmelds, invocations and the like - As if they had just gained a level in any magical/supernatural class they previously had levels in, such as Wizard, Cleric, Totemist, Shadowcaster, or etc.; But this doesn't grant them access to spells or other magical abilities if they previously had no spells or other magical abilities.
*In addition to the Dragon type, Dragon Apotheosis grants the wearer the Cold subtype, as is granted by the necklace's normal transformation.

Once the transformation has begun (The first level of Dragon Disciple has been taken), the necklace can never again be removed by anything short of a ''Wish.'' If it is removed, the character loses all benefits of their Dragon Disciple levels except HD, BAB, base saving throw bonuses and increases in the abilities of their other classes, until the necklace has been worn again for 3 months.
