The weapon looks to be a [[SRD:Magic Weapons|+1]] [[SRD:Short Sword|short sword]] made entirely of faintly-blue clear ice. A constant chill surrounds it. Upon grasping the weapon, it freezes tight over the bearer's hand, refusing to be dropped. It takes a full-round action, which provokes attacks of opportunity, to remove the weapon from hand.

The corrupting ice sword deals an additional amount of cold damage equal to 1d6 plus the weapon's base enhancement. It also bypasses the damage reduction of creatures with the [[SRD:Fire Subtype|Fire Subtype]]. A creature with the [[SRD:Cold Subtype|Cold Subtype]] takes no damage from the sword. For every successful damaging attack, the wielder is also dealt 1 cold damage and 1 point of Ice Corruption. Before it reaches the cursed final state, Ice Corruption naturally depletes at a rate of one/week.

After reaching 25 Ice Corruption, the creature becomes consumed by primal chill and gains the [[SRD:Cold Subtype|Cold Subtype]] and takes a –4 penalty on saves against warm weather and heat-based environmental effects.

Creature's killed by the corrupting ice sword (as well as the wielder if under the sword's curse) have their bodies transmuted into pure, clear ice. These statues of ice may still be used for the body for the purposes of resurrection.

The sword's curse can be removed with a ''[[SRD:Remove Curse|remove curse]]'' spell cast on the creature followed by it being dealt 25 fire damage over the course of the next minute. If the total fire damage does not reach 25, the curse reasserts itself at the end of the minute. 

For the purposes of further enhancement, the weapon counts as a total [[SRD:Magic Weapons|+2]] value.
