Idd is a technocratic nation oft considered by many as an individualist utopia. The denizens of Idd believe in the power of the individual, and strive endlessly to cultivate their bodies and minds in order to achieve success. A vast number of Idd's most successful and influential figures are highly skilled scientific minds or psionically capable individuals. More often than not, to reach the absolute top, one needs to be both. Unfortunately for those who are born infirm or less blessed with natural talent, Idd is also highly caste-driven, with varying levels of citizenship that determine which venues of learning and enterprize any given individual has access to. Meritocratic to a fault, those that have ability will be welcomed and supported, regardless of origins. And those that do not rarely set foot in one of Idd's many gated cities. 

In order to properly bring out the full capabilities of their elites on the battlefield, the ego plate was devised. Mixing the basic defensive qualities of [[Light Plate (3.5e Equipment)|lightweight plate-based body armor]] with a network of psicrystal nodes along the body's acupoints, the ego plate allows its wearer to channel its [[SRD:Psionic Focus|psionic focus]] into short-term bursts of physical power.

Ego plate is always [[SRD:Masterwork|masterwork]]; price and benefits are subsumed in the above statistics.

Ego plate grants the following benefits when worn, on top of its general protective capabilities: 

*Ego plate counts as a masterwork skill tool for the [[SRD:Autohypnosis Skill|Autohypnosis]] and [[SRD:Concentration Skill|Concentration]] skill.
*You gain the benefits of the [[Free Psionic Focus (3.5e Feat)|Free Psionic Focus]] feat.
*While you have [[SRD:Psionic Focus|psionic focus]], the ego plate's [[SRD:Armor Bonus|armor bonus]] is 2 higher.
*As a [[SRD:Swift Actions|swift action]], you may expend your psionic focus in order to gain one of the following bonuses for 1 [[SRD:Round|round]]. Per 2 [[SRD:Manifester Level|manifester levels]]: +1 to to [[SRD:Strength|Strength]], +10 to all movement speeds, +1 to saving throws, or [[SRD:Damage Reduction|damage reduction]] 1/[[SRD:Adamantine|adamantine]].
