[[Summary::Made from certain trees and herbs, the painkiller is a pill which can be swallowed with any liquid and helps fight off pain.]]  Once swallowed, the pill takes 3d10 minutes to come into effect.  When it comes into effect the creature gains a +5 alchemical bonus against any pain effects (such as ''[[SRD:Symbol of Pain|symbol of pain]]'') and any numerical penalties are halved.  The effects of a [[Headache (3.5e Condition)|headache]] are suppressed and a [[Migraine (3.5e Condition)|migrane]] reduced to a headache.  These effects last for 1d4 hours.

Taking multiple pills to keep the pain away is possible but ill advised.  After the second pill, a third pill taken within 24 hours forces a DC 15 [[Fortitude]] save or take 1d3 points of [[Con]] damage from internal bleeding.  The DC increases by +5 for each additional pill taken within 24 hours, and decreases by 5 for each 24 hours you go without after an overdose.
