The vitae dagger is a ''+1 [[SRD:Dagger|dagger]]'' that you can deal non-lethal damage with at your choosing with no penalty, and deals an additional +1 damage against any blood-bearing creature or creature with a blood equivalent.  With every attack you do which deals lethal damage, it gains a charge of stolen life force up to 15 points.  At any point as part of an attack you can choose to discharge this amount (usually paired with its non-lethal function for obvious reasons) and heal the target 1d4 points of damage for every charge expended, up to all 15d4 points of healing.  This is not positive energy, but only functions on creatures with a [[Constitution]] score.
