The '''atlatl''' is a tool that uses leverage to achieve greater velocity in projectile-throwing. It may consist of a shaft with a cup or a spur at the end that supports and propels the butt of the ammunition. It is held in one hand, gripped near the end farthest from the cup. The projectile is thrown by the action of the upper arm and wrist. The throwing arm together with the atlatl acts as a lever.  

The atlatl will use either {{srd5lc|Dart}}s, {{srd5lc|Javelin}}s, or {{srd5lc|Spear}}s as ammunition. The atlatl will be designed to work with only one of these, and cannot be used with the other types of ammunition.

The effect of using an atlatl is that the short range is tripled, the long range is doubled, and damage is increased. Also, as the atlatl is a ranged weapon, the user will use the {{SRD5|Dexterity}} modifier for to-hit rolls and damage rolls.
