A '''bola''' consists of a length of cord with weights on each end or three to six weights tied to a center point. When thrown, it can grapple a target.

'''Special:''' A {{SRD5|Large}} or smaller creature hit by a bola, it is {{srd5lc|Grappled}} until it is freed. A bola cannot grapple creatures that are formless. A creature can use its {{srd5lc|Action}} to make a DC 10 {{SRD5|Strength}} {{srd5lc|Check}}, freeing itself or another creature within its {{srd5lc|Reach}} on a success. Dealing 5 {{srd5lc|Slashing}} damage to the bola ({{SRD5|AC}} 10) also frees the creature without harming it, ending the effect and destroying the bola. 

When you use an {{srd5lc|Action}}, {{srd5lc|Bonus Action}}, or {{srd5lc|Reaction}} to attack with a bola, you can make only one attack regardless of the number of attacks you can normally make.
