As a free action, the user can take any amount of [[Constitution]] burn, and raise the base AC of their armor by an equal amount, to a maximum of 1/2 their HD (minimum up to +4).  It trades health for superior defenses.  This ability burn cannot be healed until the armor is removed, after which healing is recovered naturally.  When removed, the additional armor bonus reverts to its base amount.

It is often offered as a "gift" by certain sinister entities, and some may prove to be cursed to either be difficult to remove, or requiring a sacrifice of a minimum amount of Constitution.  The price given is for armor without any inbuilt curses.
