Named for the naiad who developed the spell, ''Galea's energy corona'' envelopes the caster in an aura of magical energy. The energy corona causes the subject to emit light as a [[SRD:Torch|torch]] (20 feet of bright illumination). The corona both protects and lashes out. Adjacent attackers, attackers who share the subject's space or attackers attacking with natural weapons are subject to 1d6 + 1 point per caster level (maximum +10) of untyped physical magical damage (successful Spell Resistance negates the damage and DR/— applies) per attack made against the warded subject(s). The corona's subject gains DR/— and Universal Energy Resistance equal to half her caster level (minimum of 1).

If cast as at least a 5th level spell, the corona lashes even further, allowing it to damage attackers or protect willing allies within close range (25 ft. +5 ft/2 caster levels).
