This rod is made of obsidian and adorned with a skull, or other symbol of death. A graverod acts as a +1 [[SRD:Light Mace|light mace]]. When wielding a graverod in one hand and casting a necromancy spell, the caster gain a +2 bonus on caster level check made while casting that spell.

Additionally a graverod is able to deliver necromancy spells, whenever the wielder casts a necromancy with a range of touch or that is a ray, she may make an attack with the graverod instead of a touch attack or ranged touch attack. If the attack hits the spell is delivered as if the caster had touched the target. If the wielder misses the rod is ‘holding the charge’, if the graverod leaves the wielder's hands while holding the charge the spell harmlessly dissipates. 

A graverod can be further enhanced as a weapon with only [[SRD:Craft Magic Arms and Armor|Craft Magic Arms and Armor]] as a prerequisite.
