A sub-machine gun designed to fire high caliber semi automatic pistol bullets. While nice, precise and damaging, some user find the recoil a little much. A High-Caliber SMG holds up to 25 [[Cartridge, Bullet (3.5e Equipment)|bullets]], which may be reloaded as a full-round action which provokes an attack of opportunity. When wielding a High-Caliber SMG, a wielder with the Exotic Weapon proficiency can make an extra attack as per [[SRD:Rapid Shot|Rapid Shot]]. If the wielder has the [[SRD:Rapid Shot|Rapid Shot]], she does not take the -2 penalty to attack rolls associated with the feat.

Those with the appropriate weapon proficiency can add their [[Dexterity]] to damage with a High-Caliber SMG.

Normally, operating a High-Caliber SMG requires two hands. However, you can shoot, but not load, a High-Caliber SMG with one hand at a –4 penalty on attack rolls. You can shoot a High-Caliber SMG with each hand, but you take a penalty on attack rolls as if attacking with two one-handed weapons. This penalty is cumulative with the penalty for one-handed firing.
