==Imaginary Friend==

It's your favorite pal from your childhood!  Only you can see him, none of the adults believe you.  But sometimes... sometimes they do things that even others cannot help to notice.  And that is because your imaginary friend was real, the magic was there, and their fey presence would haunt you for all time.  [[Summary::Imaginary friends are fey (known to themselves as Sprul'pa) who come in many shapes and sizes, and are invisible to adults of many species.  They befriend children, but their behaviors and motives are alien and, often, dangerous to all others around them.]]  It may result in the child becoming suspected of carrying a curse, possessing magical powers, or being in contract with fiends.  As they child grows, they will either grow out of seeing their imaginary friend, they will fall victim to some mishap, or some become magical themselves, either sorcerers or warlocks pacted with their fey companions.

===Personality===

The fey are untrustworthy and unsafe.  Even the most benevolent imaginary friend can misunderstand the details of humanoid society, and in helping their friends they can bring chaos and ruin.  Which is nothing compared to malicious imaginary friends, who actively seek to corrupt, destroy, and chaos to all those around them.  While it is difficult to pin down their entire personality, one could summarize imaginary friends as being friendly with children (regardless if it comes off as such) and being pranksters to spiteful to adults.  They also tend to protect those they consider friends to the extreme, a source of causing more harmful trouble when someone inevitably is murdered over it.

===Physical Description===

There is no exact way to describe the appearance of an imaginary friend.  Beyond vague human shaping, they can be furry or they can be bare, they can be wide or they can be tall.  Some have wings, some have horns, some have tails and claws and scales.  All are capable of being invisible, and do so as their default state.  However, this invisibility does not function against children and so they use this to their advantage to interact with the world indirectly by advising the young.

The other notable trait is their flexibility.  Even the more hard and spiny friend can seem to shift and distort to fit in spaces and slip through cracks they should not.  It is uncertain what happens to their bones when this happens, but their biology seems to run more on suggestions and theory than any real physics.

===Relations===

Imaginary friends are solitary creatures, but they do crave attention and friendship.  They stay on the edge of civilization, drawing in lonely individuals to the nearby forest, bog, or other natural place from which they may introduce themselves and establish rapport for those who still believe in wonder.  Conversely, they find no love for adults, even those they once were friends with.  Adults are not only dead to wonder, they are dangerous too.

===Alignment===

Imaginary friends trend strongly towards chaos, and are usually a source of mischief and bad ideas rather than good advice and morals.

===Lands===

Imaginary friends live on the outskirts of civilization, away from the industry but close enough to still interact with others.  Still, as time passes more and more find themselves in the cities proper hiding as strange sewer clowns, mysterious stray beasts, and local cryptids just out of sight.

===Religion===

Imaginary friends are not known to have their own divine friends, imaginary or not.

===Language===

Imaginary friends speak Common and Sylvan.  Most know at least one more local language if in their societies.

===Names===

Imaginary friends are given nicknames by those that see them, and so the names tend to be fanciful and childlike, such as "Mr Bubbles", "Happy Jack", and "The Fun Guy".  They also have their more complex sylvan names they are loathe to give out, lest someone try to use it to claim power over them.  In truth it doesn't seem to be an actual true name, but they are too cautious to risk it.

|specialtext1=Imaginary friends are known to be able to craft a terrible binding deal with other creatures.  As a standard action they create a document with terms and conditions set by them for one service in exchange for another, such as 1 week of hard work in exchange for a firstborn son, or the casting of a spell in exchange for their voice.  Imaginary friends don't have any real need for things like souls, rather they usually aim to take what the other values most but doesn't realize or establish situations which would spell out their downfall.  A willing creature (not compelled by magic or the like) may sign the deal and form a contract with the imaginary friend.  From that point the deal must be fulfilled.  If the deal is broken by either side, an outsider of the imaginary friend's CR + 4 is called in to force the terms of the deal or met out justice as appropriate.  Said outsider will use whatever means it has to do this task, including getting aid from others.  If defeated, the subject is off the hook, but a wronged imaginary friend who had someone break a deal with them will often spend an eternity making the dealbreaker's life hell.  An imaginary friend can only have 1 deal active at any one time, it must have the previous deal complete itself before using this ability again.  Since the consequences of failing to fulfill the deal are dire, imaginary friends wisely choose deals which won't backfire on them.

When they do so the concept materializes as a small jewel the imaginary friend keeps around.  If the jewel is broken, the stolen goods are returned to its owner.  Imaginary friends lairs are filled with countless jewels with countless lost things.
