''It was too big, too thick, too heavy, and too long.  It was more a slab of hewn rock than a sword, the surface cracked with molten rivers of superheated rock.  Only a true monster could wield such a thing.''

This ''+1 Flaming [[Giant Blade (3.5e Equipment)|giant blade]]'' is composed of sacred stone which contains a powerful fire demon.  Its unique material construction duplicates the effects of [[Ichorous Black Steel (3.5e Equipment)|ichorous black steel]], but it does not augment the damage die or critical range and modifier, and is considered to be made out of stone (hardness 8, same hp).  Instead it has the other normal properties of the material, and the Flaming enhancement (and similar enhancements) deal d8s in damage instead of d6s.  Unlike an actual ichorous black steel weapon this blade is not destroyed once it runs out of charges.  Instead the magical enhancements of the weapon are suppressed and a [[SRD:Fiendish Creature|fiendish]] [[SRD:Fire Elemental|fire elemental]] appears (even though the template usually does not apply).  The CR of the fire elemental is equal to the wielder's CR -2 (minimum Small at CR 1, maximum Elder at CR 11).  It appears in the next nearest empty space and is hostile to all creatures, and will try to destroy as much as possible.  The elemental lasts until defeated, or 1 minute passes after which it automatically is destroyed.  On destruction, the elemental returns to the blade and the blade is restored at 100 charges.

The weapon can be sundered normally if out of charges, otherwise sunder damage consumes charges.

Rumor has it of variants containing other demons with different elemental properties and fiendish elementals.  They are known as the Storm Demon Blade, Sunken Demon Blade, and Buried Demon Blade.
