The Odachi (litterally "long tachi") is a curved single-edged sword. It resembles a large  Katana (O-katana), but is slightly longer and features a more curved blade and grip. The Odachi is often used with two hands on foot and sometimes in one hand from horseback. Due to its overall lenght and weight, the Odachi is hard to use in one hand properly without special training: thus, it's an exotic weapon. 

Straight-bladed versions of the weapon are variously called with differnt names, for example "Warsword" or "Montante". 

Anyone wielding an Odachi sized form him in one hand with Exotic Weapon Proficiency takes only a -2 penalty to attack rolls instead of -4.

An Odachi as reach, but it's not as long as other pole weapons, so you can also strike opponents 10 feet away with an additional penalty of -2 to attack rolls.

A character can use an Odachi two-handed as a martial weapon, without penalty on attack rolls.
