Opalescent warp scorpion honey is often procured from magically enlarged, restrained opal warp scorpions within an area that bars dimensional travel. This is important because young opal warp scorpions can sniff out this honey with alarming accuracy and instantly leap across the boundaries of planes to get to it, in disturbingly large numbers, appearing in swarms nearly instantaneously as they clamber to devour as much as possible.

The honey is stored in specially prepared breakable spherical flasks with a central core containing a propellant (usually pressurized air) held in place with sharp pins designed to puncture the propellant container upon impact, spraying shrapnel and honey as a grenade-like [[SRD:Throw Splash Weapon|thrown splash weapon]] with a range increment of 10 feet.

When thrown, a direct hit deals 1d6 points of slashing damage as shrapnel sprays about. Every additional creature within 5 feet of the point of impact takes 1 point of splash damage from the shrapnel. Everything within that 10 foot space gets covered with sticky opalescent warp scorpion honey. Barring effects that would block their arrival, opal warp scorpions swarm in by the thousands. 
Creatures caught in the splash are subjected to an [[Opal Warp Scorpion Swarm (3.5e Monster)|opal warp scorpion swarm]].

The scorpions will continue to scramble over any surface covered in the honey, fighting each other and going all crazy to get their honey, clawing and stinging everything. Consuming all the honey takes 1d4 rounds, at which point they [[SRD:Plane Shift|plane shift]] out.

As expected, coating an area with opalescent warp scorpion honey that still contains a splattering of opalescent warp scorpion honey adds to the duration it takes them to clear out the food supply. It also calls in reinforcements, essentially refreshing a current swarm of opal warp scorpions (restoring the swarm to full HP).

Gathering opalescent warp scorpion honey from a suitably sized opal warp scorpion (medium size or larger) requires a [[SRD:Handle Animal Skill|Handle Animal]] check (DC 30) to procure 1 dose (check results between 20 and 30 yield a percentage of a dose equal to 10% for every 1 over 20. For example, a result of 27 would yield 70% of a full dose). A single such scorpion produces enough honey for a single dose once a week, regardless of any success in harvesting honey from it. When properly prepared and weaponized, it can fetch a price of 105 gp in the appropriate market. 

This honey can also be prepared for consumption. If quaffed, the honey restores 1d4 HP through extraordinary means. The drinker must also make a [[SRD:Will|Will]] save ([[SRD:DC|DC]] 10) or have their emotions become amplified for 1d4 weeks.
