With this spell you resize an item, typically a weapon or armor, to your size.  Thus you can transform a Small dagger into a Medium dagger, or a Huge shocking greatclub +1 into a Small shocking greatclub +1.  The process isn't entirely free.  Material components equal to the amount of components needed to grow an item are needed so a Small adamantine dagger requires an amount of adamantine as material component to make up for the cost difference if it were made into a Large dagger.  The converse is not true, and shrinking an item produces no raw components.  The material is simply consumed.  You can also transform normal armor into barding and vice versa, again making up for the cost as needed.

Alternatively you can refit any armor your size at no cost.

Lastly you can use it on an item to reforge it with a new material, turning iron swords into silver or adamantine warhammers into cold iron.  The cost of forging the item out of that material in the first place is required, and the original material is simply lost.

Artifacts and some unusual items are immune to this spell.
