''This rod has a visible glowing core of some kind of pulsing blue energy between the mace-like flanges.  Swinging it seems to impart a great deal of force on whatever you strike, more than you yourself have put in it.''

The rod of concussive blasts acts as a ''+1 heavy mace'' which can project powerful blasts of force.  As a standard action, you can project a bead of force out to 200 ft, which explodes in a 20-ft burst, dealing 10d6 points of force damage with a [[Reflex]] save for half (DC 10 + ½ user's HD + the rod's enhancement bonus).  If the creatures struck fail their save by 5 points or more, they are also knocked [[SRD:Prone|prone]].  It can be used once every 1d4 rounds.

In addition, the rod may be used to perform [[SRD:Bull Rush|bull rushes]] as an attack action without provoking an [[SRD:Attack of Opportunity|attack of opportunity]].  You do not need to follow your opponent bull rushed by the mace.  If you can use the concussive bead of force function of the mace, you may expend it as part of a successful bull rush to deal 10d6 force damage with no save.  However, there is no explosion; it affects only the target of the bull rush.
