A handy tool used by undead exterminators of countless clergies, ''sacred mist'' is an alchemical substance in powder form created by mixing [[SRD:Holy Water|holy water]], high-purity alcohol and silver nitrate with various alchemical bonding agents. Generally produced in thumb-sized pellets, sacred mist can be ingested to provide a basic protection against the attacks and abilities of [[SRD:Undead Type|undead]], or it can be used against undead directly to weaken them in combat. 

When ingested, a sacred mist pellet will infuse the body of living creatures with a mild sacred power. Visually, it causess a misty haze to exude from the eyes, mouth and pores of the body, encasing it in a thin layer of smoky mist. This mist doesn't impede visibility, but will elicit a sense of subconscious aversion in any [[SRD:Undead Type|undead]] creatures, mindless or no. A living creature under the effect of sacred mist exudes mild [[SRD:Positive Energy Plane|positive energy]], granting a +2 bonus to attack rolls, damage rolls, [[SRD:Armor Class|AC]] and [[SRD:Saving Throw|saving throws]] against [[SRD:Undead Type|undead]]. While the sacred mist protection is active, it can prevent a maximum of 5 points of [[SRD:Ability Damage|ability damage]] caused by any effect created by [[SRD:Undead Type|undead]]. If targeted by [[SRD:Ability Drain|ability drain]], this prevention instead turns it into [[SRD:Ability Damage|ability damage]] of the same type.

When used to attack, a sacred mist pellet can be thrown (range 30 ft.) or shot with the help of a slingshot or sap (range dependent on weapon). This requires a ranged attack roll, and any [[SRD:Undead Type|undead]] creature successfully hit takes a -4 penalty to its [[SRD:Strength|Strength]] and [[SRD:Dexterity|Dexterity]] scores, as well as incurring all penalties for being inside a [[SRD:Consecrate|consecrated]] area. Any undead within 5 feet of the square in which a sacred mist pellet explodes (including the original target, if the initial attack missed), must make a [[SRD:Reflex|Reflex]] save to avoid incurring the pellet's effects.

All effects of sacred mist last for 1 minute.
