You can only cast this spell on a helpless or tied up creature.  Their mind is infected with a shard of your personality which lays dormant in the background.  Divination attempts to discover magical tampering fail, though a DC 40 Sense Motive check can determine that something subtle is off.  The creature acts as normal, but the shard of your mind is able to observe all that is going on from the creature's senses, using your mindset, mental ability scores, and knowledge at the time of casting.  At any time you can whisper to the target using their own inner voice, or use ''[[Insidious Suggestion (3.5e Spell)|insidious suggestion]]'' at will (using this spell's DC).  With careful application, the control will never be discovered.

The original caster may use ''[[SRD:Scrying|scrying]]'' as a standard action at will on the target, no save, using the focus for this spell as a medium.  They may also invoke direct control temporarily replacing the will of the target with their own and obtaining the caster's mental ability scores.  However this process is very obvious that the target is not themselves.  Control may be maintained up to 1 round/level before it is broken, and the caster may not assume direct control for another 24 hours.

If the target dies while this curse is active, they gasp out a magical word.  A DC 40 Spellcraft check reveals this to be a key marker of a creature under the effect of this spell.

This is considered a powerful curse, and can only be lifted with ''[[SRD:Limited Wish|limited wish]]'' and greater effects.  Doing so immediately alerts the caster of their targets status, position, and surroundings and they may take punitive actions.
