''Made from stretchy and well-fitting black [[Gossamer (3.5e Equipment)|gossamer]], these sleeves wrap from the wrist with a small loop to go around the thumb, up to the bicep, where a ring of black ermine fur and raven feathers protrude stylishly.''

The sleeves provide a variety of magical functions as described below. Both sleeves must be worn for the wearer to gain magical benefit from them.

*[[SRD:Feather Fall|Feather fall]] is activated immediately if the wearer falls more than 5 feet.
*The wearer gains [[SRD:Resistance to Energy|resistance to fire]] 2.
*The wearer may pluck out a feather with the same action as drawing a weapon. This feather functions as a [[SRD:Masterwork Weapons|masterwork]] [[SRD:Dart|dart]]. After 1 minute, the feather dart vanishes.
*The wearer can pluck out a feather with the intent to write. This feather instead acts as a magically inked writing quill and instead vanishes after 1 hour. It need not be re-inked in that time and any writing remains afterward.
*Once per hour, a feather can be plucked, which becomes a conjured [[SRD:Raven|raven]]. This bird serves as a ''[[SRD:Whispering Wind|whispering wind]]'' spell, except without the [Air] descriptor and the bird loudly delivers the message, other sound or wild flapping upon arrival before vanishing. The raven can become waylaid as any bird might. 
*The wearer may pluck out a feather to create a mundane feather.

With each pluck, the wearer feels a light pinch. Plucked feathers quickly and automatically regrow from the sleeve. If a feather is plucked when the sleeve is not worn, it simply creates a mundane feather.

It is thought that cursed versions of this item exist in which the wearer transforms into a raven upon dying, but that may simply have been a property of the Raven Witch of Blood Marsh herself.
