Focusing the energies of the divine within your outstretched palm, you condense radiant sunlight into a spear of crackling golden energy. The ''sunlight spear'' functions as a +3 [[SRD:Keen|keen]] [[SRD:Adamantine|adamantine]] [[SRD:Spear|spear]] with the [[SRD:Ghost Touch (Weapon Enhancement)|ghost touch]] and [[SRD:Shocking Burst|shocking burst]] qualities and casts light as per the ''[[SRD:Daylight|daylight]]'' spell. The sunlight spear's [[SRD:Enhancement Bonus|enhancement bonus]] increases by 1 for every 3 [[SRD:Caster Level|caster levels]] above 11th. Attack and damage rolls with the spear use the caster's highest mental ability score, instead of [[SRD:Strength|Strength]] or [[SRD:Dexterity|Dexterity]]. If the sunlight spear is ever discarded or removed from the caster's hand (for example by a successful [[SRD:Disarm|disarm]] attempt), the spell ends.

The sunlight spear is the bane of [[SRD:Undead Type|undead]] creatures and creatures that are harmed by light, and can score [[SRD:Critical Hit|critical hits]] normally on these creatures. Any attack made against a creature that is mortally baned by daylight, such as a [[SRD:Vampire|vampire]], is an automatic critial threat.

As a [[SRD:Standard Action|standard action]], the sunlight spear may be thrown, and doing so reveals the spell's true power. The resulting ranged attack deals 1d6 points of [[SRD:Electricity Effect|electricity]] damage per [[SRD:Caster Level|caster level]] to the target in addition to its usual attack damage (no save), and creates a 10-foot-radius burst of [[SRD:Electricity Effect|electricity]] centered on the target that deals an additional 1d6 points of damage per 2 [[SRD:Caster Level|caster levels]] to any creature in the area including the initial target ([[SRD:Reflex|Reflex]] half). If the attack misses or if the caster does not choose a specific target, the area effect still occurs. If the target or area is submerged partially in water, the area effect becomes a 20-foot-radius burst and the electricity damage increases to 1d6 per [[SRD:Caster Level|caster level]].

Undead and any creatures that have light vulnerability or that otherwise take penalties when exposed to bright illumination do not benefit from any resistance or immunity to electricity. Any creature that takes damage from the sunlight spear's thrown attack must make a [[SRD:Fortitude|Fortitude]] save or become [[SRD:Stunned|stunned]] for 1 [[SRD:Round|round]]. Throwing the sunlight spear ends the spell.</onlyinclude>
