The shield bestows the wearer with a +1 deflection bonus to Armor Class that remains even if the shield is depleted. The shield has a total of 15 hit points, and can absorb damage from any form of attack that is not a gaze attack or a psionic power that allows a Will save. Damage over the amount absorbed is dealt to the wearer, and any damage reduction or energy resistance the wearer may have still applies to the damage reduced by the shield. The shield cannot absorb more damage than it has hit points remaining at any time.
