Biblos the Missing Page[edit]
Biblos was an ancient wizard who managed to entrap himself within his own library. The library was lost, but his book, and he, persists somewhere with the knowledge of a now-dead universe. Biblos grants you the ability to read any text, memorize any event, make any knowledge check, divine the future and past, and harm with a word.

Legend[edit]
A long long time ago, a great scholar and wizard known as Biblos cast the spell read in my voice while escaping his opponents, slipping into one of his magical tomes in his great library. He evaded death, but his intended escape never came. His book remained unread for years, decades, centuries. His library was buried, time passed, empires rose and fell. Eventually, time itself came to an end, but Biblos, foolishly, had bound himself to an artifact book and never could be destroyed. Dimly aware of the passing of time, his suffering should have ended when his universe did. And yet, upon the birth of a new universe and a new time flow, he persisted, not in matter, but as a vestige. And he is still stuck in that blasted book...
Special summoning[edit]
You must draw Biblos's seal within a book.
Manifestation[edit]
The pages of the book begin to flicker forward rapidly, generating new pages seemingly out of nowhere and picking up speed as the wind picks up around you. Things seem to be running in high speed around you until it reaches the last page and time stops. The last page has strange alien text upon it which shift and change as Biblos "speaks", with the terms of the contract and a pen to sign one's name. Upon signing the contract, the book slams shut and time resumes. The phantom pages and the "last page" no longer exist and cannot be found once the summoning has concluded.
Sign[edit]
You gain some alien text across your forehead. It can't be read, but Truenamers who see the name gain a +10 bonus on their Truenaming checks against you.
Influence[edit]
You insist on trying to read every book and text you come across. Even those explosive runes.
Granted Abilities[edit]
As It Was Written[edit]
You can use augury at will. Once you have used this ability, you cannot use it again for 5 rounds.
Baneful Word[edit]
You can harm any one creature in 60 ft with a single powerful word, dealing 1d6 damage per two HD with a Will save for half damage. This is a language-dependent mind-affecting ability.
You can also inscribe the baneful word in text as a standard action. Any creature which reads it and is within 60 ft is affected by it. You may only have one baneful word written down at one time, writing a second baneful word makes the first go inert. Otherwise, the written baneful word can persist forever. It is considered a magic trap and can be found and disabled by a rogue with a DC 25 search and disable device check.
Library of Knowledge[edit]
You can make any Knowledge check untrained, and gain your Charisma modifier as a bonus to Knowledge checks (minimum +1). You can choose to take 20 on a Knowledge check, but doing so takes 1d4 hours of mulling through various unrelated books and papers.
Perfect Memory[edit]
You have absolute perfect photographic memory of events around you. This perfect memory lasts as long as you are bound to this vestige. You get +10 on any check made to transmit this information to another, such as giving someone an idea of what a place looks like through writing.
Read Everything[edit]
You are constantly under the effects of read magic and comprehend languages with respect to any written text. You also gain your Charisma bonus on saves against any written spell and spell-effects (such as any symbol spell or sepia snake sigil) and even get Will saves against written spells which don't have saves, such as explosive runes.
