Graverobber's Rags

An old, tattered and somewhat foul ensemble of clothes allows those that spend a lot of times near graves and undead to blend in.

These mottled, dusty old grey clothes are unpleasing to the eyes and nose alike. Consisting of simple, if somewhat odorous textile underclothing, a coat of freyed and tattered old leather and a haggard hood and cloak, the graverobber's rags are covered in a constant dusty appearance. Few people nowadays understand how clothing as unappealing as this has lasted through the ages. However, simple versions of this type of clothes are exceedingly popular among the lower and middle class in lands where many undead roam. Graverobber's rags are always masterwork; price and benefits are subsumed in the above statistics.

The graverobber's rags grant the following benefits when worn, on top of its general protective capabilities:

  • The graverobber's rags count as a masterwork skill tool for the Disguise skill.
  • The ashen dust that constantly accumulates on the rags is the result of a simple alchemical concoction laced within the fabric that confuses the senses of undead. Undead are incapable of identifying you by sight, smell or hearing. This functions as a hide from undead effect, except that instead of being completely invisible to them, you will instead be identified as a fellow undead and left alone unless you initiate hostilities or unless someone controlling the undead singles you out for attack. Undead with an Intelligence score of 5 or higher must make a Will save (DC 11 + your Charisma modifier) to realize that you are not an undead.
  • You gain a +4 bonus to any saves vs diseases and curses.

Craft (tailoring and alchemy) DC 20. Market Price 400 gp.
