|summary=Giants in the SRD are pretty dissatisfying - they tend to be over-CRed and under-sized, and at CR 7 you expect a more climactic challenge than "a pretty big guy". This version of the Hill Giant is conceptually similar to the one in the SRD, and plays like a kind of alternative to an Ogre while being sat at the same CR benchmark. Where ogres are chunkier and grittier, Hill Giants are brawnier. The result is a guy who’s pretty dangerous as a turret with the proper strategy but is a bit of a glass cannon as a melee monster.

Otherwise, Hill Giants know well enough who the good targets are and will charge at the squishy guys on the other side. Overrun attacks allow them to overpower the meatheads who stand between them and their favourite targets. Some hill giants fight without armor just so they can swoop in and dispatch the most vulnerable targets more quickly.

Rock Throwing The range increment is 120 feet for a lesser hill giant’s thrown rocks.

Strategies and Tactics[edit]

Their 120 foot range increment on their rocks is substantial, and the damage they do is pretty scary if they can keep it up - so they will, if they can get away with it.

Note[edit]

This statblock uses a feat-per-level system, which gives a feat away for each level, considered equivalent with CR. If using a feat at 1 and every third level system, remove one feat.
