1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.

A hellfire thrower is a long tube of metal attached to a wooden stock, connected by pipes to a reserve of raw hellfire inside a backpack. It is inscribed with potent magical runes, and has a trigger mechanism to release a gout of hellfire over a wide area, but at a short distance.

A hellfire thrower deals fire damage, but this damage ignores one point of fire resistance per character level (or CR) of the user, and treats fire immunity as resistance equal to 1/2 of the damage it would deal. Additionally, hellfire throwers add their user's Dexterity modifier to damage rolls (but cannot do so more than once). Hellfire throwers reload themselves, requiring no action on the part of the user, and don't need ammunition.

Additionally, a hellfire thrower's printed range increment is its maximum range. It creates a cone-shaped spread of that length, and instead of the user making an attack roll, creatures take the weapon's full damage, with a Reflex save (DC 10 + 1/2 the user's BAB + the user's Dexterity modifier) for half. Any attack roll modifiers that would normally apply to ranged weapons also apply to this DC, but are halved (after taking them all together, rounding up).
