The Basket-hilted sword, also called Basket-hilted broadsword, is weapon with a broad, double edged blade, and a thick steel basket over the hilt. The size and shape of the hand guard grants a couple advantages over a more traditional longsword. First, because the whole hand is enveloped by it, it is very difficult to wrest it from someone grip; the wielder gains a +4 bonus on opposed rolls to avoid being disarmed.
