Elf, Lost
Not all elves have the natural gift of magic. You never hear about them. Well, here they are.
Lost Elves look and act like any other elf of their sub-race. A Lost High Elf looks just like a normal High Elf. Lost Elves, however, push themselves as far as they can physically go and farther. All Lost Elves have a natural chip on their shoulders that affect their relationships. This is caused from their lack of magic in a area surrounded by magic.
Personality
Lost elves tend to be more withdrawn then other elves. This is do to their lack of magic in a magic community. Some hate the other elves for this and turn evil, others try to protect the "Found Elves" (as some Loest Elves jokingly call them) because they normal elves still see teh mas family.
Physical Description
Lost Elves look exactly like any other elf of their family. If a lost elf is born to Drow (they never survive more then a few years though), they look just like a Drow. Males stand anywhere from 5 foot 6 to 7 feet 4 inches. They weigh anywhere from 132 pounds to 138 pounds. This gives the elves a very tall slender look. Females are usually about two inches shorter and 15 pounds less. Note: If using a lost elf in a normal D&D game, use basic height and weight. All number given here are for the Darkgate Campaign Setting ([1])
Relations
Lost Elves tend to prefer the company of humans as much as their own race. This is do to the fact that while many humans can use magic, few humans have the knowledge to do so. They tend to dislike gnomes almost to the point of hatred for their casual use of magic. They won't try to kill them for it, but if they have a choice; a lost elf will leave the gnome's company.
Alignment
Lost elves tend to be chaotic good, like most elves, but they may be any alignment.
Lands
Lost elves, like all elves of Darkgate tend to live in Glarmion. Those that live on other worlds or plains tend to live with the rest of the elf populace.
Religion
Most elves worship a deity of nature and/or magic, but Lost Elves usually worship a deity of war and/or honor, such as Kord (good Lost Elves) or Erythnul (evil Lost Elves). Many still respect nature and may even pay lip service to a deity of nature.
Language
Lost elves speak Common and Elven. Many also learn Draconic, Gnoll, Gnome, Goblin, Orc, and/or Sylvan.
Names
Lost elves share the names of your basic elves. For example, both a Lost Elf and normal Elf may share the name Aramil Amastacia.
Racial Traits
- +4 Dexterity, -2 Constitution, and -2 Charisma: Lost Elves don't push themselves so hard physically as they do in their dexterity, and, as all elves are, they are not as hardy as most people. They are also almost as harsh as Dwarves when it comes to relations, due to the chip on their shoulder.
- Humanoid (Elf): While they are severed from using arcane magic, a lost elf is still an elf.
- Medium: As a Medium creature, a Lost Elf has no special bonuses or penalties due to its size.
- Lost Elf base land speed is 40 feet: Since lost elves can not use magic, they push themselves to go faster to protect their magic-wielding allies quicker.
- Low-Light Vision: A can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. She retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.
- Immunity to magic sleep and Charm Person effects, and a +2 racial saving throw bonus against enchantment spells or effects.
- Thick Skinned (Ex): Because of pushing themselves to be better at "mundane" combat, their skin has hardened just enough to give them a natural armor bonus: Lost elves have +1 to natural armor.
- Magic Severance (Ex): Lost Elves cannot become a class that uses Arcane Magic. They have (for whatever reason the GM decides) completely lost their connection to Arcane Magic. The may still become divine casting classes however.
- Weapon Proficiency (Ex): Elves are automatically proficient with the longsword, rapier, longbow, composite longbow, shortbow, and composite shortbow.
- +2 racial bonus on Listen, Search, and Spot checks. An elf who merely passes within 5 feet of a secret or concealed door is entitled to a Search check to notice it as if she were actively looking for it.
- Automatic Languages: Common, Elven.
- Bonus Languages: Draconic, Gnoll, Gnome, Goblin, Orc, Sylvan.
- Favored Class: Fighter, Lost Elves make up for their lack of magic by became masters of the martial class.
- Level Adjustment: +0
- Effective Character Level: 1
