Sellsword Captain

A sellsword captain is a talented squad leader, focusing on military combat rather than natural skills. Typically closer to a fighter in demeanor, the sellsword captain is often the leader of adventuring bands, or at least their tactician. Sellsword captains greatly benefits their allies, both with their skills with the blade and their sharp strategic minds.Most sellsword captains have severed their links with nature magic, and have the Skirmisher archetype .

Class: Ranger

Level: 1st-12th

Replaces: Favored Enemy

Benefit: A sellsword captain receive the following class features:

Captain's Bane (Ex): At 1st level, the sellsword captain can, as a move action, indicate an enemy in combat and rally her allies to focus on that target. The sellsword captain and her allies gain a +1 bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against the target. This ability applies only to allies who can see or hear the sellsword captain and who are within 30 feet of the freebooter at the time she activates this ability. At 5th level and every 5 levels thereafter (10th, 15th, and 20th level), the bonus increases by 1. The captain’s bane lasts until the target dies or the sellsword captain selects a new target.

At 11th level the sellsword captain may activate this ability as a swift or move action. At 19th level its bonus applies to allies within 60 feet who can see or hear her.

This ability replaces favored enemy, quarry and improved quarry.

Teamwork Feats (Ex): At 3rd level, the sellsword captain gain a Teamwork feat she meet the prerequisites of as a bonus feat. At 8th level and each five levels thereafter, the sellsword captain gains an additional bonus feat she meets the prerequisites of.

This ability replaces favored terrain.

Tactician's Bond (Ex): The sellsword captain forms a bond with her companions. As a move action, she may grant all allies within 30 feet who can see or hear her one of her teamwork feat for a number of rounds equal to the sellsword’s Wisdom modifier (minimum 1), or until she uses this ability again to grant another teamwork feat. Allies do not need to meet the prerequisites of these bonus feats. At 12th and 17th level the sellsword captain can grant an additional teamwork with each use of this ability.

This ability replaces hunter's bond, camouflage and hide in plain sight.

Solo Tactics (Ex): A 7th level sellsword captain gains the Solo Tactic class feature of an inquisitor.

This ability replaces woodland stride.
