Deisteel

Also known as the ‘metal of the Gods’, deisteel is an alloy of adamantium and mithral which combines the qualities of both. The process of alloying both materials is said to be long-lost, as a result the rare deisteel items are usually found rather than made. Deisteel has the same texture as regular steel, however, it is a glossy black with gold reflection and is extremely lightweight. Deisteel is immune to corrosion, such as from rust monster or the rusting grasp spell. Deisteel is so costly that weapons and armor made from it are always of masterwork quality; the masterwork cost is included in the prices given below.

All items made of deisteel counts as being made of both Adamantine and Mithral, gaining the benefits of both.

Deisteel is difficult to work with; doubling the craft DC of any item made of deisteel and increasing the DC further by +10 afterward. Only the most talented of craftsmen can hope to work with the material. All items made of deisteel weight half as much as normal.

Deisteel has 60 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 20.

Type of Deisteel Item Item Cost Modifier
Ammunition +160 gp
Light Armor +10,000 gp
Medium Armor +20,000 gp
Heavy Armor +30,000 gp
Weapons +8,000 gp
