A Brief History

Much of Orizon’s written history has been lost to the deprecations of time. Especially considering more than half of their history was lost to a literally world-shattering cataclysm.

Each continent and each culture has its own means of reckoning history, and its own events that have made up what they consider worth remembering. But they all share some broad strokes in common, such as just about every culture using the breaking as the beginning of their counting of years.

The Aeon of Harmony

? - 0 OS

The Aeon of Harmony saw a utopian world where all things flourished and lived in peace together. The Vaeren lived in their world and among their people and creatures, and during this vast era incredible empires surfaced, many of which are mere legend in modern days.

The Fall

The Fall marked the end of The Age of Harmony, with Antherice separating himself and his select corrupted following from the Vaeren and other people on Aeie, in search for ultimate power over them.

The Age of Darkness

0 OS – (~5 OS - ~20 OS)

The years following The Fall saw misery on Aeie, as people turned on one another and commted acts never before seen on Aeie. The Vaeren felt powereless to stop Antherice and his followers, having never encountered the kind of evil Antherice was creating in the world. Onsolore sought help form Amae who then bore Wenderille, and the War of Eternals began, finally ending in The Moments Battle.

The Salvaging

(~5 OS - ~20 OS) – (~300 OS - ~400 OS)

In this time, The Vaeren and the people of Aeie attempted to restore what was left of the old utopia that they had once loved. They found however that the scars Antherice had left on Aeie were not easy to remove, much of the evil he had nurtured living on even though he had gone. Towards the end of this time, musing began among the people, ideas spreading of leaving the old ways and using all they had learned to develop and protect themselves. While resistance to this change in thought and widespread suffering was seen during the Arcane War, these ideas only became stronger in Aeie’s leading figures.

The Regeneration Era

(~300 OS - ~400 OS) – (~500 OS - ~600 OS)

After the Arcane War, the need for development became stronger in the people. In these years, there was a higher level of expansion, innovation and development in a shorter space of time, and the Aeie known today began to finally take shape. Authorities and regulations were formed across Aeie and communication and harmony between empires grew stronger and stronger. Arcane Schooling was fully in place and resistance largely quelled.

The Steady Years

(~500 OS - ~600 OS) – (~900 OS – ~1000 OS)

Slow and Steady development went on in these years with peace and conflict existing in balance across Aeie and the major threats of the past were long forgotten. Trade grew stronger, education and resources more widespread and empires thrived, fell and were renewed again.

Creator’s Note: This period is expansive, and can be drastically different between the different cultures of Aeie, but is broadly analogous to the period of the early empires (Roman, Mongolian, etc.) to the medieval era.

The Age of Sail

(~900 OS – ~1000 OS) – Present (~1159 OS)

The consistent slow growth seen in The Steady Years gave way to the modern Age of Ascension, were people are beginning to one again rapidly innovate as knowledge, resources and collaborations across Aeie have become far easier over the previous years.
