Reorx, also known as the Forge, the World Smith, and Tamer of Chaos, represents the godly force of creation in the Dragonlance campaign setting. He desires for souls to grow through crafting and gaining skill. He is the patron of dwarves and gnomes, but also of all craftsmen. He is also followed by gamblers and rogues because they rely on their own talents to change the course of an event. He respects and encourages the power of mortals to shape, build, and produce. Reorx, at the behest of the High God, created the world of Krynn from the raw energies of Chaos. He is a much loved deity; he works with Shinare and Gilean, and is respected by Sargonnas and Kiri-Jolith for his power of smithing mighty weapons. Zeboim is known to go to Reorx to better understand the workings of ships and the like, so that she can better destroy them. The dwarves hold that Reorx created them as his chosen; however, Reorx creates the gnomes instead when a chosen group of men fall from his grace. The dwarves and the kender are created when the energies of Chaos morph a group of gnomes into the two races. His celestial symbol is the red star Reorx.
Graygem of Gargath
Hiddukel and Chislev tricked Reorx through flattery, into creating the Graygem to help balance neutrality on Krynn. As a result of capturing the deity Chaos, the Graygem became sentient, and attempted to spread chaos everywhere by change everything that came into contact with the gem, including the creation of kender. The Graygem never looked or felt the same to any two people, always changing in size and look. In an attempted to save face form the other gods Reorx trapped the Graygem on the moon of Lunitari, hiding it from his fellow gods. Hiddukel tricked a gnome into stealing the Graygem from Lunitari. The gnome used a Self-Propelled Lunar Extension Ladder[1] to take the Graygem from Lunitari and return to Krynn. As the gnome was returning, he lost his grip on the Graygem, and it fell to Krynn. The Graygem went wild running across the world bring chaos and change. After seeing the destruction that the Graygem left in its wake, Reorx charged the gnomes with the capture and return of his Graygem. After chasing the Gem for thousands of years, it was located on the Isle of Gargath where Palin Majere, Tanin Majere, and Sturm Majere along with Dougan Redhammer(Reorox's Mortal like form) got it back, only to loose it once again in a wager against a common fisherman. This time as a result of Reorx loosing possession of the gem the Chaos War would break out.
Dougan Redhammer
Reorx takes on the form of Dougan Redhammer, a richly decorated dwarf who is a thief that frequents Palanthas. He is a loud and cheery fellow who enjoys drinking and gambling, but has very bad luck.
