This armor and shield enhancement grant resistance to cold and extremely low temperatures. The wearer of iceguard armor is always under the effect of endure elements (cold only), gain a +2 bonus on saving throws against [cold] effects and gain cold resistance 5 + the armor’s enhancement bonus. The wearer of an iceguard armor can move at full speed on ice without needing to make a balance check.
An enhanced shield grants cold resistance 1 + the shield's enhancement bonus, which doubles when fighting defensively or using the total defense action. While fighting defensively or using the total defense action, all cold damage dealt to the wearer by a foe she is aware of is dealt as non-lethal damage.
