This suit of armor includes gauntlets, greaves, large pauldrons with a mantle or cape, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and a cuirass decorated with the symbol of the deity that the paladin serves. This symbol acts as a holy symbol and can be used as a focus for divine spellcasting. A paladin's plate is always masterwork; price and benefits are subsumed in the above statistics.
The paladin's plate provides the following benefits when worn, on top of its general protective capabilities:
- You get a +2 competence bonus to all Charisma-based checks.
- If you worship the deity whose symbol is emblazoned on the chest of the armor, you gain a +1 sacred bonus to all saving throws. This effect radiates out to any allies within 30 feet of you that also worship the same deity.
- If you possess a divine spellcasting class, your casting-relevant ability score counts as 2 higher for the purpose of determining the number of spell slots or spells prepared.
- You may use the cantrip light at will, making the holy symbol on the armor glow with a white radiance.
Craft (armorsmithing and metalworking) DC 28. Market Price 2,250 gp.
