Eidolon EvolutionsEdit
You and your Eidolon must meet any prerequisites for an Evolution in order for your eidolon to be able to gain it and use its benefits. Your Eidolon can gain an Evolution at the same time that you meet its prerequisites.
Your Eidolon cannot gain an Evolution if that Evolution would logically conflict with another Evolution it already has, such as having legs that end in both claws and hooves. An evolution can be gained only once, unless the Evolution's description specifically states otherwise.
An Evolution with the "Eidolon Only" prerequisite means that only the Eidolon can possess that Evolution, even if another ability, such as the Bond of the Shaper, would allow the Shaman to apply an Evolution to themselves.
General EvolutionsEdit
These Evolutions are available to all Eidolons.
3rd-Level EvolutionsEdit
Basic MagicEdit
Prerequisite: Eidolon Only
Choose one Cantrip from any spell list. Your Eidolon learns that Cantrip, using your spellcasting ability, spell attack bonus and spell save DC. The Eidolon ignores components when casting this Cantrip, and you can command the Eidolon to take the Cast A Spell action using your Bonus Action.
You and your Eidolon cannot both cast a spell in the same round, unless one or both of the spells are Cantrips.
BiteEdit
Your Eidolon gains a Bite natural weapon, which deals 1d6 points of Piercing damage. If the Eidolon already possesses a Bite attack, the damage of their existing Bite attack increases by one die size (d4 to d6, d6 to d8, d8 to d10, etc).
Additionally, when the Eidolon lands a successful Bite attack against a creature, it can force the creature to make a Strength saving throw (DC 10 + Shaman's PB + Eidolon's Strength or Dexterity modifier); On a failed save, the creature falls prone.
BleedEdit
Your Eidolon excels at inflicting bleeding wounds. When the Eidolon successfully lands a melee attack against a creature, the creature must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 10 + Shaman's PB + Eidolon's Strength or Dexterity modifier); On a failed save, the creature takes 1d4 points of Necrotic damage at the start of its next turn, and at the start of its turn for each round thereafter. It can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
The damage increases to 1d6 whenever the creature is Bloodied, to 1d8 whenever the creature is Wounded, and to 1d10 whenever the creature is Critical.
ClawsEdit
Prerequisite: Must not be limbless.
One pair of your Eidolon's limbs becomes tipped with sharp claws, giving it two Claw natural weapons that each deal 1d4 points of Slashing damage. If the Eidolon already possesses a Claw attack, the damage of their existing Claw attack increases by one die size (d4 to d6, d6 to d8, d8 to d10, etc).
Additionally, Each time the Eidolon makes an attack with only its Claws, it can make two Claw attacks instead of one. This includes attacks of Opportunity, but not attacks made as part of a spell (Such as Booming Blade) or special ability.
This Evolution can be taken more than once, but can only be taken once for each pair of limbs your Eidolon possesses.
ClimbEdit
Your Eidolon becomes a skilled climber, gaining a Climb speed equal to its land speed.
If your Eidolon already has a Climb speed, its Climb speed is doubled.
GillsEdit
Your Eidolon has gills, granting it the ability to breathe underwater indefinitely.
HoovesEdit
Prerequisite: Must not be limbless.
One pair of your Eidolon's limbs grows dangerous hooves, giving it a Hooves natural weapon that deals 2d4 points of Bludgeoning damage. When the Eidolon enters the space of a Prone creature, the creature must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 10 + Shaman's PB + Eidolon's Strength or Dexterity modifier) or suffer damage from the Eidolon's Hooves attack as it is trampled.
Additionally, an Eidolon with this Evolution can move normally through nonmagical difficult terrain.
InkEdit
Prerequisite: Aquatic Form
This Evolution can only be used if the Eidolon is underwater.
When you command your Eidolon, you can command it to release a cloud of ink using its Action. This creates a 20ft radius sphere of ink, centered on your Eidolon; This ink persists for 1 minute, causing the area to be heavily obscured for the duration. Upon releasing this ink, your Eidolon can use its reaction to move up to half its movement speed.
Once this Evolution is used, it may not be used again until you finish a Short or Long Rest.
If an ability allows the Shaman to use this Evolution, the Shaman must be underwater, the cloud is centered on the Shaman, and activating this Evolution requires an Action.
Keen Hearing And SmellEdit
You Eidolon has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
Minor ResistanceEdit
Choose one type of damage: Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, or Thunder. Your Eidolon gains Resistance to that type of damage.
This Evolution can be taken more than once. Each time, you must select a different damage type.
MountEdit
Your eidolon becomes easier for you to use as a mount. It may be treated as one size category larger than its current size for the purposes of mounted combat.
PincersEdit
Prerequisite: Must not be limbless.
One pair of your Eidolon's limbs grows sharp pincers, giving it two Pincer natural weapons that deal 1d6 points of Piercing damage.
Additionally, this Evolution gives your Eidolon advantage on any ability check made to grapple a creature, or made to prevent a creature from escaping a grapple.
PounceEdit
Prerequisite: Quadruped Form
If your Eidolon moves at least 20ft towards a creature in a straight line, and then hits it with a natural weapon attack on the same turn, that creature must make a Strength saving throw (DC 10 + Shaman's PB + Eidolon's Strength or Dexterity modifier). On a failed save, the creature falls Prone and immediately provokes an opportunity attack from the Eidolon.
Push And PullEdit
Your Eidolon gains the ability to force fully move creatures. When the Eidolon successfully lands a melee attack, it can move the target of its attack 5ft in a straight line, in any horizontal direction.
ReachEdit
The reach of all of your Eidolon's melee attacks increases by 5ft.
SkilledEdit
Your Eidolon gains Proficiency in two skills of your choice.
If you select a skill it is already proficient with, it instead gains Expertise in that skill, allowing it to double its Proficiency bonus when making an ability check with that skill.
SlamEdit
Your Eidolon gains a devastating Slam attack; This counts as an unarmed strike, rather than a natural weapon, and deals 2d6 points of Bludgeoning damage. This Evolution replaces any unarmed attack your Eidolon may possess.
SlipperyEdit
Creatures have disadvantage on ability checks made to grapple your Eidolon, and your Eidolon has advantage on ability checks made to escape a grapple.
StickyEdit
When a creature of your Eidolon's size or smaller touches your Eidolon, it must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 10 + Shaman's PB + Eidolon's Strength or Dexterity modifier) or become grappled by it. This can trigger even when a creature makes a melee attack against the Eidolon, provided the attack lacks Reach or is a natural weapon; However, this cannot trigger when the Eidolon makes a melee attack against a creature.
When a creature is grappled in this way, it has disadvantage on ability checks made to escape the grapple.
StingEdit
If your Eidolon does not possess a Tail, it grows one. Additionally, it gains a barbed stinger at the end of its tail, allowing it to make a Sting melee attack. This Sting attack deals 1d4 points of Piercing damage, and has 5ft greater reach than the Eidolon's other natural weapons.
SwimEdit
Your Eidolon gains webbed hands, feet, or powerful flippers, gaining a Swim speed equal to its land speed. If your Eidolon already has a Swim speed, its Swim speed is doubled.
Tail SlapEdit
If your Eidolon does not possess a Tail, it grows one. Additionally, it gains the ability to make a Tail attack, which deals 1d6 points of Bludgeoning damage. If the Eidolon already possesses a Tail attack, the damage of their existing Tail attack increases by one die size (d4 to d6, d6 to d8, d8 to d10, etc).
TentacleEdit
If your Eidolon has the Limbless trait, it loses that trait upon gaining this Evolution. Your Eidolon gains two Tentacle natural weapons that deal 1d4 points of Bludgeoning damage, and has 5ft greater reach than the Eidolon's other natural weapons.
Weapon TrainingEdit
Prerequisite: Must not be limbless.
Your Eidolon becomes proficient with all simple weapons, plus one martial weapon of your choice.
Wing BuffetEdit
Prerequisite: Fly speed.
Your Eidolon can uses its wings to batter foes. This grants them a Wing Buffet natural attack, which deals 1d4 points of Bludgeoning damage. Whenever your Eidolon uses this natural weapon, it cannot provoke attacks of opportunity until the end of its turn.
5th-level EvolutionsEdit
These evolutions are available only if your Shaman level is 5th or higher.
Ability Score ImprovementEdit
Prerequisite: Eidolon Only
An Eidolon with this Evolution increases one of its ability scores by +2, or two of its ability scores by +1.
You can select this Evolution more than once. You can grant your Eidolon a maximum of a +2 bonus to any single ability score using this Evolution.
Arcane AttacksEdit
Choose one damage type: Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, or Thunder. You Eidolon's natural weapon attacks deal an additional 1d6 damage of this type.
Additionally, your Eidolon's natural weapons count as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistance and immunity to non-magical attacks and damage.
Arcane Breath WeaponEdit
Your Eidolon gains the ability to exhale destructive elemental energy. Select one damage type: Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, Poison, or Thunder.
When the Eidolon uses its breath weapon, it uses its Action to exhale in a 15ft Cone, or a 5ft-wide, 30ft-long Line. Creatures within the area must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 10 + Shaman's PB + Eidolon's Constitution modifier) or take 2d6 points of damage of the selected type. This increases to 3d6 when you reach 11th level in this class, and to 4d6 when you reach 17th level in this class.
Once the Eidolon uses its breath weapon, it must roll a d6 at the start of each of its turns. On a result of 6, it regains its breath weapon.
If an ability allows the Shaman to use this Evolution, activating this Evolution requires an Action.
ConstrictEdit
When your Eidolon grapples another creature, that creature takes damage equal to your Eidolon's Strength modifier (Min 1), and is considered Restrained until the grapple ends.

GoreEdit

Additionally, your Eidolon learns one 1st-level spell from any spell list, which it may cast using this spell slot. Your Eidolon uses your spellcasting ability, spell attack bonus and spell save DC. The Eidolon ignores components when casting this spell, and you can command the Eidolon to take the Cast A Spell action using your Bonus Action.

While in its Swarm shape, it becomes a swarm of Tiny creatures; This Swarm's size is one size category larger than the Eidolon's current size. The Swarm is composed of miniature versions of the Eidolon, and retains all of its abilities and Evolutions.
While in this Swarm shape, the Eidolon gains the following traits:
