1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.

A complex heavy crossbow with three bows, this mechanical wonder can fire three shots at once in burst fire by taking a -2 penalty to attack. This consumes three bolts of ammo, and additional damage not on the bolts themselves are only added to once of the bolts in burst fire (such as adding an ability score to damage, or sneak attack). The damage of all three bolts counts as a single attack, useful for breaking damage reduction.

It does not have a stock like a rapid fire crossbow or repeating crossbow, so after it fires it must be reloaded as normal. The triad heavy crossbow can reload all three shots as a full round action.

Abilities which grant extra attacks with projectile weapons only add one additional bolt instead of three per shot (such as from Rapid Shot or Splitting).

The triad light crossbow counts as a heavy crossbow for all purposes, such as feats and abilities which interact with heavy crossbows.
