Summon beer elemental and intoxication don't seem to exist. Not sure if you intended to write them or not. If not, may I suggest illusory feast at 5th and waves of exhaustion at 7th?
- I planned doing them, but never got around actually doing it. As far as I am concerned, you suggestions might as well substitute the missing spells, for the time being. If you have any idea on how to actually make those spells (summon beer elemental is pretty straightforward, while intoxication was never well designed in the first place) let me know. --The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 18:34, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
- I get that. I have loads of stuff just kind of sitting on the backburner. "While intoxication was never well designed in the first place" implies you had an approximate idea of what it was supposed to do? If that's the case and you've got your notes for it then I can try to use that as a baseline. But yeah, summon beer elemental just really requires a beer elemental statblock. - Probably something to do with poison damage, but I can't remember. I'd like to use the intoxicated condition I linked, which could meant I would move down the spell. I also might change some spells, like heroe's feast and toxic.--The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 12:34, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- I'll have to noodle over where I think a spell with that intoxicated condition should go. Heroes' feast is thematically very appropriate for the domain but I've also seen it in a lot of domains (both published and on the wiki), so I'd understand if you wanted to drop it. hero's coma seems even more appropriate for a domain of alcohol (if you specify it comes from your magic booze, you don't even suffer penalties if you use it to buff yourself). You could then drop heroes' feast for something else (perhaps put summon beer elemental at 6?) Blood melt could be easily refluffed as very potent blood alcohol and take the place of toxic, though I'd understand if you wanted to avoid an [Evil] spell since beer gods aren't necessarily evil. Or perhaps red tide from the spell compendium (a giant wave of alcohol. if this wasn't specifically the Beer domain I'd suggest it be red wine.) Celebration is a bard spell about singing a drinking song that gets people drunk; that might fit in well somewhere. Darth Rabbitt (talk) 03:59, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
- I've made some changes. I just need a 7th level spell (I'd like the idea of a pub brawl, any suggestions?), and to make the statblock for a alcohol elemental (probably divided in various types of alcohol, so that you may upcast the spell to obtain greater effects (maybe could be a Transmutation or Creation spell, instead of summoning). --The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 09:21, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
- Friend to foe is the best "pub brawl" spell I can think of without trawling a bunch of different spell lists. Though might be a bit low level for a 7th level domain slot (a good wizard save or lose at 1 level higher than a wizard gets it is fine, getting at 2 levels higher seems a bit steep to me). Maybe bump summon beer elemental up to 7th (since it's being written from scratch I'd guess the easiest to shift numbers on) and use friend to foe to 6th? Darth Rabbitt (talk) 01:40, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
- That might be a good idea. I could also justify the bump in level by making a transmutation spell/or remain Illusion but avoiding immunity to Mind affecting effects (it might instead be based on the effects of alcohol). --The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 10:16, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
- Intoxicants are probably the midpoint of mind-affecting and poison immunity, so I could see something like that working. Guess it depends on if you'd rather have summon beer elemental at 6 or 7. Darth Rabbitt (talk) 03:38, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
