Veteran Sellsword

A mix between the Fighter and the GunslingerPathfinder, a veteran sellsword uses grit to perform various deeds. However what they gain in battle hardened toughness and skill they lack in sheer venerability.

Class: Fighter

Level: 1st-20th

Replaces: 1st, 6th, 10th, 14th and 18th Bonus Feat, Bravery

Benefit: A veteran sellsword gain the following class features:

Grit (Ex): A veteran sellsword possesses a pool of grit much like a GunslingerPathfinder. She regain a single point of grit if she confirm a critical hit with a weapon she possess Weapon Focus in or deal a killing blow against an opponent. She only regains grit if the creature’s CR is equal to her character –4 or higher.

Deeds: This ability functions just like the GunslingerPathfinder class feature, except she has access to the deeds below instead of the normal list. If one of her deeds has a save the DC is 10 + 1/2 Class level + the veteran sellsword's Wisdom .

Gritty Stamina (Ex): At 1st level, the veteran sellsword gain Combat Stamina as a bonus feat. While she has stamina at all times, she may only use the benefits of the feat while she has 1 or more grit points. If she already has the feat or gain it later, she may use it without having any grits left and she may spend grit points as if they were stamina points.

Unshakable Will (Ex): A 1st level veteran sellsword may expend a 1 grit as an immediate action to roll a Will save twice, taking the better result.

Harden Self (Ex): A 3rd level veteran sellsword may expend 1 grit as a move action to gain 2d6 temporary hit points. These temporary hit points last 1 minute and do not stack with any other sources of temporary hit points. At 5th level and each four level thereafter, the veteran sellsword gains an additional 1d6 temporary hit points.

Hook Shot (Ex): As long as a veteran sellsword of 3rd level or higher has 1 or more point of grit in her pool, she gain the benefits of the Hook Fighter feat. By spending 1 grit as a swift action, or 2 as an immediate action, she may throw a grappling hook or fire a Hookshot as part of the action with a +4 bonus on the ranged attack roll. If she does so she may move up to half her speed along the hook, or if she is falling she may preposition herself up to half the fall distance on a lower platform, taking no fall damage.

Quick Step (Ex): A 3rd level veteran sellsword may move 10 feet as a swift action as long as she possesses a single point of grit in her pool.

Finishing Blow (Ex): A 7th level level veteran sellsword may expend 1 point of grit as part of making an attack, dealing extra damage equal to half her class level. If the struck foe hit point was below half of it maximum normal value before the attack, the extra damage instead becomes equal to her class level.

Improvised Bomb (Ex): A 7th level veteran sellsword knows the recipe for small, but powerful bombs. As a standard action, she may quickly create and throw a bomb by expending 1 point of grit. The bomb requires a ranged touch attack, is a thrown weapon with a range increment of 10 feet and deals 4d8 fire damage on a successful hit. The bomb deals minimum splash damage against all adjacent creatures and counts as an area of effect when beneficial. At 9th level and each odd level thereafter, the bomb's damage improves by 1d8.

Through Any Terrains (Ex): A 7th level veteran sellsword with 1 or more points of grit in her pool gains the ability to charge through difficult terrain. As part of a movement she may expend 1 grit, if she does she can move at her speed even if she would normally be slowed down by difficult terrain or a slowing magical effect (such as fog cloud).

Bleeding Wound (Ex): An 11th level veteran sellsword receives Bleeding Wound, as a GunslingerPathfinder. Instead of firearms this deed can be used on any attack made with a weapon she possesses Weapon Focus with.

Incredible Alacrity (Ex): An 11th level veteran sellsword may spend 3 grits as a free action at the start of her turn to gain an extra standard action for the round. She may only use this ability once per encounter.

Piercing Charge (Ex): An 11th level veteran sellsword may spend 1 grit after she successfully drops a foe below 0 hit point with a charge attack. If she does she continues her charge, stopping and attacking the next enemy in the line. This can be used multiple times until the veteran sellsword runs out of opponent or movement.

Blinding Blow (Ex): At 15th level, the veteran sellsword may expend a 1 grit as part of an attack. If the attack hit, the struck foe is blinded for 1 round per class level unless it succeeds on a Fortitude save, negating the effect. If the attack roll is a confirmed critical hit, and the struck opponent fails it save it is permanently blinded instead. A creature can only be affected by a specific veteran sellsword's blinding blow once per day.

Evasive (Ex): A 15th level veteran sellsword receives Evasive, as a GunslingerPathfinder.

Strike with no Thoughts (Ex): A 15th level veteran sellsword may expend 1 grit to make a single melee attack as an immediate action. This attack may be any attack which requires an attack action to perform.

Fear Itself (Ex): A 19th level veteran sellsword may expend 1 grit as a standard action to make an Intimidate check to demoralize opponent against all foe within 60 feet. Any foe successfully intimidated in this manners is At Bay against the veteran sellsword as long as they are Shaken.

Cheat Death (Ex): A 19th level veteran sellsword receives Cheat Death, as a GunslingerPathfinder.

Stunning Blow (Ex): A 19th level veteran sellsword receive Stunning Blow, as a GunslingerPathfinder, except that it must be delivered with a weapon she possess Weapon Focus with.

Battle-Hardened (Ex): Starting at 2nd level, a veteran sellsword gains a +1 bonus on saves against fear and effect which would leave her fatigued or exhausted. This bonus increases by +1 for every four levels beyond 2nd. This ability counts as bravery for all purposes.
