Volcano
Evocation [Earth, Fire]
Level: Druid 7
Components: V, S
Casting time: 1 round
Range: Long (400 ft. + 40 ft./level)
Effect: One volcano
Duration: 1 minute/level
Saving Throw: See text
Spell Resistance: No

The ground shudders and groans, as from the ground rips open and sprays a gout of molten rock into the sky!

When you cast this spell a 20 ft radius cylinder up to 40 ft high explodes from a volcano, molten lava dealing 1d6 fire damage per level with a Reflex save for half damage and falling prone on a failed save, and leaves a molten pool in the area. In addition out to a 20 ft radius, creatures must make a Reflex save or fall prone. At your choice, you may also create an fog cloud effect centered on the volcano made of choking smoke. Creatures must hold their breath in the cloud, or risk suffocation.

Creatures which were in the explosion and failed the save are coated in magma, taking 2d6 fire damage for 1d3 rounds.

Each round, the molten pool remains in the area acting as difficult terrain, up to 10 ft deep. As typical for lava, immersion deals 20d6 fire damage and contact 2d6 fire damage. The pool remains molten for 1 minute/level before cooling normally into solid rock. If underwater or other unusual environments, this duration may be cut in half.

Repeating casting of this spell eventually builds up a mound, a hill, and eventually a mountain. Each casting adds about a foot of fresh stone and ash per minute it remains molten.
