Racial Traits

  • -4 Dexterity, +4 Constitution, -2 Intelligence, and +2: OozeOozes are tough, but possess little ability to dodge. While they are much, much smarter than most of their non-sentient cousins, they are still not as smart as most humanoid races. They do, however, possess a strangely deep natural wisdom.
  • Ooze: Oozeoozes are considered oozes for any effect that specifies oozes. Otherwise the relevant racial traits are reproduced here.
  • Medium: As a Medium creature, a Oozeooze has no special bonuses or penalties due to its size.
  • OozeOoze base land speed is 20 feet: An ooze is fairly slow. As noted later, an ooze also is unable to run faster than x3 base speed.
  • Amorphous body(Ex): An ooze has no solid form to speak of. It only has a limited ability to increase its own movement speed, making it able to run only up to three times its base speed and charge up to its base speed. An ooze is also capable of manipulating the contours and dimensions of its form, able to seep under or through solid surfaces at their normal movement speed as if it were a creature four size categories smaller than itself (note that some equipment may not fit). Additionally, oozeoozes in their natural form cannot jump.
  • Amorphous Anatomy: An ooze cannot be flanked or tripped, and is also not subject to critical hits or precision-based damage (such as Sneak Attack) unless the attacker has at least 1 rank in the Knowledge (dungeoneering) skill. Oozes have such simplistic body structures that they are immune to poisons, paralysis, sleep effects, and stunning. While oozes technically need to eat and breathe, their forms are so simple that they are able to acquire enough nutrients to sustain themselves merely from their surroundings.
  • Blind (Ex): Oozes are blind, but have receptors and spots where they are capable of receiving sensory information. This gives them the blindsight special quality out to a distance of 30 feet plus 10 feet per Hit Die. Oozes are immune to gaze attacks, illusions, and all other effects that depend on senses. They also cannot be blinded or deafened, due to their lack of most sensory organs. Part of the reason Oozeoozes make friends is to tell them what is going on beyond that distance.
  • Fast Healing (Ex): Because of the simple components of the ooze's body, it able to rapidly reconstitute itself. It automatically has fast healing equal to one half its Hit Dice.
  • Pseudopodia: An Oozeooze can exude any number of tendrils from itself. These can function as arms, or other limbs are are capable of using adhesion to hold objects. Any held object can be engulfed into the ooze, and any object in the ooze can be pushed out to be held in a pseudopod. While the Oozeooze may have many arms, it can only do complicated tasks (such as attacking) with two of them, at most. An ooze can exert one and a half times it's strength modifier with a single pseudopod, if it is the only one it is actively using.
  • Engulf: An OozeOoze generally carries its belongings and equipment inside of itself, with similar move actions for retrieval. It may, however, transfer any object it is standing on into its innards as a free action. Lastly, all items held within the ooze are safe from sundering, theft, and other problems, save those originating from creatures grappling the ooze.
