Turtle Armor

Named so for its distinctive "turtle shell" shape, turtle armor is very protective against all manner of threats. However it's shape makes it unwieldy. Those wearing turtle armor cannot be flanked and get a +4 bonus to stability (as a dwarf) which stacks with other forms of stability. However if they do fall prone it takes a 1 round action to stand back up instead of a move action.

You cannot run in turtle armor, you can only move up to twice your movement speed.

Donning turtle armor takes twice as long as donning full plate.

  1. If the character has some help, cut this time in half. A single character doing nothing else can help one or two adjacent characters. Two characters can't help each other don armor at the same time.
  2. The wearer must have help to don this armor. Without help, it can be donned only hastily.
