Bro have you ever seen a wizard? It a bunch of random crap. If anything it meant to be similar to the archmage, which is similarly 'random'. Also since it in construction a lot of the fluff on the 'lordship' is missing, which is essentially a ritual that bind your lifeforce with magic.
