The silver and gold orbs floated beside her, and as she was wounded one of them opened and unleashed a burst of retributive energy.
These gold and silver orbs are prized possession of for ambitious spellcasters, although they are incredibly rare and pricey. A contingency orb must attuned to it user, a process which require 24 hours, after being attune the orb float around the user much like a ioun stone. Once per day, the owner may cast a spell and store in the orb, acting as a contingency spell for all intent and purpose. Once a spell is discharged the orb is emptied and another spell may be cast inside, alternatively the owner can discard a spell as a standard action. As usual the user can only have a single contingent spell at a time and if she attune a new contingency orb the previous one become inactive.
A much rarer and pricier version exist, which divide into three upon being attune. The user may cast a spell in each of the three orb, much like she can for the singular orb. She may only have one active orb at any time, but she may switch between them as a swift action. Once a spell trigger the owner may decide immediately which other orb become active. In essence this allow her to have three contingent spell at a time, although only one of them is active at any given time.
