Frigid Refraction
Dire Winter (Stance) [Air, Cold]
Level: 5
Prerequisite: Three Dire Winter maneuvers
Initiation Action: Swift
Range: Personal
Target: Self

This rare technique of the Dire Winter discipline makes the user invisible by refracting away light using air current loaded with ice shards.

This stance allows the initiator to manipulate air current filled with small shards of ice that refract incoming light. This causes the initiator to become invisible as per the persistent invisibility spell. When the initiator attacks it does not become completely visible, still gaining 20% miss chance against all attacks. Because of the air current needed to allow the technique to function, and that a tiny amount of light need to get through to allow the initiator to see, the initiator is partially visible. During an opponent's turn, that opponent can see the initiator's outline as if she was invisible underwater.

While this stance is active, the initiator does not count as being affected by sunlight or being in bright-light. Thus a vampire could survive in sunlight as long as it stays in this stance. This protection is not removed if the initiator attacks. Finally the initiator gains a +4 bonus on save against [Light] spell and evasion against them.
