Other Warlock Dark; 9th |
You create a giant wave of molasses with a size of 60 feet x 60 feet (18 m x 18 m), anywhere in 100 feet + 10 feet per caster level (30 meters + 3 meters) from you, that advances 10 feet (3 meters) per round. You may choose to make it spread in just one direction or evenly in all directions. Anyone caught in the mass at the time of its creation must make a Reflex save. If successful the creature is trapped within the molasses but its upper body is free, allowing it to try a Strength or Escape Artist check (DC is the invocation's DC) to free itself. If it does it stands on the molasses, treating it as difficult terrain and suffering a -10 to Jump checks, and needing a new Reflex save to avoid being trapped again at the end of each turn it does not get off of it.
If the first save is failed the creature is completely entrapped in the molasses, starting to suffocate. It may try to Swim to resurface the mass, but with a -10 to such checks.
Anyone reached by the molasses is subject to the same effects.
Anyone partially or completely inside the molasses suffers 1d6 per two caster levels of fire damage, as the mass is scorching hot, until it frees itself from the molasses.
The molasses keeps moving for 6 rounds, after which it cools off and hardens, adding a + 5 to the DC against the checks necessary to escape or free someone from it, but negating the fire damage.
Only one istance of this molasses may be present at any given time, the first one disappearing if the invocation is used again.
This invocation may be learned only by a warlock that has the Candyman as a patron.
