Mystic Steel

A rare form of steel that is said to be imbued by impurity from meteorites and melted in a crucible and forged with great skill. It is said that weapons forged from mystic steel are very strong, and seldom lose their edge. Mystic steel is named as such because of its legendary reputation and highly desirable traits. When armaments made of mystic steel are on the market, they command a high price. Mystic steel is immune to corrosion, such as from rust monster or the rusting grasp spell. Mystic steel is so costly that weapons and armor made from it are always of masterwork quality; the masterwork cost is included in the prices given below.

A weapon of mystic steel deals an additional point of damage and ignore hardness of 9 or less.

A mystic steel armor and shields acts as if made of adamantine, except the DR it grants is DR/Adamantine instead of DR/- due to its lesser hardness. However mystic steel is also relatively more flexible, decreasing the armor check penalty of the armor by 2.

Mystic Steel has 30 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 15.

Type of Mystic Steel Item Item Cost Modifier
Ammunition +30 gp
Light armor +3,000 gp
Medium armor +7,000 gp
Heavy armor +10,000 gp
Weapon +1,500 gp
